I could see the sense, even if it was a bit of a stretch. Even Vaz's infamous comparison of Halsey to Mengele I could see the sense in. Before them it was mostly Ackerson, who was a dick. I was glad some of the characters disliked her so much. It was darker and held her more accountable than Nylund's work. During Glasslands and The Thursday War, I constantly defended Traviss for her portrayal of Halsey. I've had a lot of opinions milling about in my head since I finished the book a few days ago.Įdit: TL DR: I didn't have a problem with the Halsey hate, or with Traviss, until aobut halfway through Mortal Dictata.
